So sorry to learn about John - know you will miss him terribly. We have some wonderful memories of the two of you in Panama City every spring. What wonderful times we had so many years ago but also FOR so many years with some good friends. We are thinking about you and your family and I pray for nurturing and healing.
Love to you, Joni and Lou and Coe

To the John Schefelbein Family
My sincere sympathy to you all on the loss of John. I first met John at the Caterpillar Proving Ground in 1958. I will never forget when a bunch of us got laid off and John called home to tell his wife. She must have said "what are you going to do?" Because I will never forget his reply was "hell I'm going out to look for another job"
I saw John again when we both worked at WABCO (Komatsu) John was Chief Engineer at the Proving Grounds. John was a great people person and had a great sense of humor. I saw John perhaps 15 years ago at the Peoria Airport we were both flying somewhere, he was he same old John. We lost a good man but I am sure God already has a job for John. May your family be comforted with the good memories you have of him. God Bless you all

Dear Ketra and family, We were so very sorry to hear of John's passing. We know he has not been in good health for some time, but we know that he made the most of every day of his life. His children and grandchildren will always be happy that they knew him and enjoyed life with him. We know you all have many wonderful memories of a wonderful man. We are only sorry that we didn't get over to Peoria more often and visit with you folks. Seems we get so busy with our own family that we don't take the time to go and visit our other relatives. LaVern McEntire called me this a.m. and told me of this website. We enjoyed the slideshow. Thanks for a wonderful website and memorial to John. Our sincere sympathy and prayers for your strength to endure the grief of losing a very dear loved one. With love and prayers, Marion Lee and Myrna

Ketra, I have such wonderful memories of you and John. He added a special spark to each and every day. I would like to be there to give you a hug like the one I got from you and John when Jim died. The days ahead will be difficult and empty but your faith in God will sustain you. You and the rest of the family are in my thoughts and prayers. My sincere condolences are with you.

To Ketra, Karen and Bill,
We just wanted to say how sorry we were to hear about John. It seems like yesterday when we ran into you and John at Donnelly's restaurant. It is great to see the family photographs. We will keep you in our prayers.
Sincerely,
Dana (Rasmussen) & Mike Powers

Nurse for Dr Jongerius |

Dear Ketra, Karen, and family,
I was so sorry to read about John. I loved seeing all the pictures of John, Ketra and family that are included in this memorial. As a nurse for Dr Jongerius, I remember how easy John would laugh, even when he wasn't feeling well, and it was easy to see he loved his family the way he would talk about them. He really enjoyed life. It was a privilege to be involved in some of his medical care. I know you will cherish your memories and miss him every day. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.
Sincerely,
Mailyn Dreessen
